Marine Engineering Technician

Starting Salary £42,753  depending on experience (allowances payable on completion of initial training) | Comprehensive benefits package | Permanent contract

Our Marine Engineering team maintain the Authority’s fleet of vessels around the clock, which includes planned maintenance, such as the pilot boats’ yearly re-fit and emergencies. The work can be demanding, yet it’s central to people’s safety. Our engineers and marine fitters are relied upon by the Port of Felixstowe for operational pilot boats. In short, the whole Haven looks to the Authority to keep everything moving. Trained to excellent standards, our team also deals with a huge scope of maintenance work involving electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems and repairing structural damage.

We are looking for a Marine Engineering Technician to join our busy Marine Engineering department on a permanent contract. Reporting to the Marine Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for providing marine engineering and maintenance services that ensure the availability, compliance and upkeep of the organisation’s fleet. This role involves undertaking routine planned maintenance and reactive repair duties on the Authority’s vessels, plant and equipment. You will also support with vessel refit duties and the overhaul and major repair of small to medium sized internal combustion engines.

Graduate Assistant Hydrographic Surveyor

Starting Salary £32,000 with incremental rises | Comprehensive benefits package | Career Graded post | Permanent contract

To support this vision, we are seeking an Assistant Hydrographic Surveyor to join our Harbour Engineering department. As our Assistant Hydrographic Surveyor, you will embark on a comprehensive, tailored training programme that blends on-the-job experience with professional development courses, ensuring you gain the skills and knowledge needed to excel. You will receive guidance from experienced mentors who will support you throughout your journey, offering insights and advice to help you navigate your career path.
