Supporting stakeholders in the Haven

Last month our marine team were delighted to offer their expertise – and support – to move Harwich’s iconic LV18 as she embarked on a trip to Ipswich.
With senior Harwich Haven Authority pilot Ian Love leading operations the lightship arrived safely at her temporary berth in Ipswich Marina.
LV18 is a survivor from the heyday of British shipping and is unique because she still contains the original crew quarters, galley, mess room and six Gardner diesel generators to power the lantern, foghorns and ship’s equipment.
The Lightvessel is maintained by a dedicated group of volunteers and is permanently moored on The Quay in Harwich.
