New Non-Executive Director joins the Harwich Haven Authority Board

22 September 2020

We are pleased to announce that the Secretary of State has confirmed the appointment of Nicola Hancock as Non-Executive Director of the Harwich Haven Authority Board with effect from 1 January 2021. She replaces Dr. Karen Purnell who leaves the Board at the end of this year after two terms in office.

Nicola is the Chief Operating Officer for Downstream IT at Shell, accountable for the strategy, planning and continual improvement of the function. Previously she held a senior role within the Royal Mail Group as Director of Technology Business Operations and before that worked across a number of disciplines within Ernst & Young. A member of the Institute of Directors, she has a specific focus on technology and digitisation and is passionate about transport and the environment.

On joining the Board Nicola commented: “It is a privilege for me to be working with Harwich Haven Authority. As a Suffolk resident I see first-hand the critical role the Authority plays for the region and the wider UK economy, as well as the opportunities for growing and strengthening this. I very much look forward to working with the team from 2021.”
