East of England’s largest trust port appoints new Chief Executive Officer

Harwich Haven Authority is delighted to announce, following an extensive executive search, that Sarah West has been appointed as Chief Executive of Harwich Haven Authority with effect from 1 January 2023. Sarah will be taking over from Neil Glendinning who will be retiring at the end of the year following 24 years of service, the last eight as Chief Executive Officer.

Sarah comes to the Authority from her role as Chief Operations Officer at the Port of Aberdeen where she is currently overseeing the operational implementation of the new harbour.  Prior to that she was Chief Operations Officer at the Port of Dover.  She is a proactive promoter of diversity and inclusion and was an inaugural member of Maritime UK’s Women in Maritime Network.
