2026-05 New Containership Reporting Requirements- NCOS

Harwich Haven Authority is adopting the use of software “NCOS Online” which will require new reporting information. From 1 November 2026, vessel agents and Masters must complete the NCOS form for all container ships arriving or departing the Port of Felixstowe.
For arriving vessels, the form must be submitted at least 24 hours before arrival, in line with the pilotage request. For departing vessels, it must be submitted at least two hours before departure, in line with the required pilotage notice.
The information submitted will provide Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) with additional data to enhance navigational safety, improve traffic efficiency, and reduce operational delays. It will support smoother vessel movements, reduce delays at berth, improve traffic flow, and help lower emissions. It may also enable wider transit windows for deep-draught vessels and improve the planning and efficiency of maintenance dredging.
