08 June 2026
Mariners are advised of the latest hydrographic surveys showing depths in the Harwich Deep Water Channel which are published as follows:
Charts & Surveys – Harwich Haven Authority
The latest soundings are to be taken into account for passage planning and vessels should maintain a minimum of 10% under keel clearance (in relation to their draught), including when passing other vessels.
The controlling sounding is 15.8m within the swept path area (subject to prevailing conditions). Areas of shoaling on channel edges should be noted and taken into account, especially in vicinity of No. 1 buoy and for deep draught passing vessels (see survey charts for full details).
Contact Harwich VTS or Haven Pilots for further information.
This notice replaces local Notice to Mariners No. 73 of 2025 which is now withdrawn.
