Harwich Haven Authority (HHA) is giving budding mariners, engineers, communications specialists and office staff the chance to get hands-on experience on one of the UK’s busiest and most important waterways.

The two-year programme will see graduates experience multiple departments and contribute to real projects, solve genuine business challenges and help shape the future of the organisation.

“That includes supporting our operational teams in bringing the world’s biggest ships into port, maintaining our fleet of vessels, crafting internal and external communications or crunching numbers in the finance department.

“We want every graduate to experience the vast scope of opportunities available to them in the fantastic world of maritime.”

As part of the programme, each graduate will receive an executive sponsor, an individual development plan and quarterly development reviews alongside formal training and a structured rotations plan.

HHA has a long history of supporting those in early careers through their award-winning apprenticeship scheme and is a proud member of ‘The 5% Club’ – businesses with at least 5% of its staff in ‘earn and learn’ positions.
