Harwich Haven Authority publish 2021 tariffs
17 December 2020
The Authority’s conservancy and pilotage tariffs for 2021 will be increased by 5%. Our tariff information can be found at www.hha.co.uk/tariffs. The new charges will come into effect on 1 January 2021.
Twenty-twenty has been a challenging trading year for the Authority predominately due to the Covid-19 pandemic and a reduction in vessel calls to Haven ports. However, through considerate and careful financial planning, the Authority was able not to implement a mid-year tariff increase to customers during 2020. After review, and a comprehensive rationalisation of our spending, we can no longer absorb the reduction to our revenue. We believe that the 5% tariff increase continues to offer good value for money to our customers. The Authority will continue to monitor costs and efficiency savings through the first two quarters of 2021, as well as the number of vessels that call to the Haven. Based on this we will evaluate the requirement for mid-2021 tariff increase.
With the cost of fuel decreasing we will remove the £20 fuel surcharge currently charged per pilotage act during 2021.
