An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vessel Traffic Services Officer within the Vessel Traffic Service Operations Centre, which delivers a 365 days a year service. The team is responsible for navigational safety, traffic management and protection of the port environment in accordance to the Port Marine Safety Code.
Managing Haven vessel traffic is a complex and demanding task, so we’re looking for someone who is an excellent communicator, co-ordinator and is accustomed to working effectively under pressure. Full training will be provided for the right applicant. Candidates will be required to attain an IALA V-103/1 Certificate and have an aptitude for marine navigation and logistics to facilitate the safe and efficient movement of vessels within the Harwich Vessel Traffic Services area.
As one of the UK’s largest trust ports Harwich Haven Authority is responsible for safety of navigation of all vessels using Haven Ports, which includes the largest container vessels currently in operation and in excess of 10,000 yachts that visit the area each year.
