What type of people are we looking for?

We are interested in speaking with professional mariners who have the aptitude and attitude it takes to excel as a marine pilot. Individuals who strive for excellence, are 100% committed and want to be the best.

With an industry leading training programme we have a track record of nurturing and developing some of the world’s top pilots. Our pilotage service also handles more of the world’s largest container vessels than any other UK port.

Before you can apply you’ll need to have either a STCW II/2 Master or Chief Mate (Unlimited Tonnage) certificate of competency, or a RN equivalent qualification. Ideally, you will already have some experience of piloting and ship handling experience, although this is not essential.
