31-2019: Harwich Maritime Festival – berthing arrangements for Ha’penny Pier pontoons Saturday 27th July 2019
Mariners should note that in order to maximise the number of vessels accommodated on the Ha’penny Pier pontoons on the day of the Harwich Maritime Festival, Saturday 27 July we are asking all visiting vessels to make visual contact with the on duty Pier Masters before entering the inner pontoon entrance. If a space is available, the Pier Masters will direct vessels to an allocated berthing position.
As this is a special event a great deal of cooperation is required from boat owners using the pontoons. This may require vessel crews being asked to move to accommodate larger vessels against the pontoons. All visiting vessels must be prepared to be rafted as directed by the Pier Masters. It is the responsibility of any visiting vessel to have sufficient fenders, of sufficient size to protect their own and rafting vessels.
All vessels mooring for the duration of the Harwich Maritime Festival – 11am – 6pm, Saturday 27 July must ensure that they pass their contact details to the on-duty Pier Master on arrival.
No berths will be reserved for visiting vessels, and we will continue to operate the pontoons on a first come, first served basis. All visiting vessels must abide by our No Mooring signage and take instructions from the on-duty Pier Masters. Our usual charges will apply for any vessels staying overnight on the pontoons – https://hha.co.uk/leisure/mooring/ We would also like to remind visitors that the Ha’penny Pier Pontoons are monitored by CCTV 24 hours a day.
Your cooperation with the content of this Notice to Mariners is very much appreciated and the Harwich Haven Authority hopes you will enjoy visiting the Harwich Maritime Festival.
